Regards from 🌴 Palm Springs 🌴, where we’re staying to relax for a couple of days…

We just traveled from Las Vegas to Palm Springs in Southern California. In the small town of Amboy we crossed America’s Mother Road – the Route 66 – again and took a picture of our Love Bug in front of the world famous Roy’s Motel. Later on we admired the countless Joshua trees and the marvelous desert dunes along the road…

Always having a blast spending time in 🎰 Fabulous Las Vegas 🎲 …

Yesterday we met our friend Wayne with his VW Bus and he surprised us with a small version of Herbie. Thank you for this beautiful gift!

Traveling from Flagstaff towards Las Vegas via Seligman and Kingman on Arizona’s Route 66. A must-stop for Herbie and us is always Angel Delgadillo’s Barber Shop in downtown Kingman.

Herbie was facing some rough roads heading South from Winslow on Hwy. 99 and Hwy. 88 following Arizona’s Salt River passing Lake Roosevelt, Lake Apache and Canyon Lake. But the views were simply magnificent and Arizona’s State Route 88 is always worth a visit, even though most of it is unpaved.

Feeling blessed to be back at Canyon de Chelly in the Navajo Nation in Arizona. This is one of our most favorite spots in the USA. It’s calm and relaxing and we just love the atmosphere here.

One of our must-do’s when touring the US Southwest is to travel through Monument Valley, located in the Navajo Nation. Whenever we get there, we always take some pictures at the very same spot on Hwy. 163.

And as we were heading North entering Utah and the small town of Mexican Hat, we stopped for the night at Domi’s most favorite motel in the Southwest.

Herbie probably enjoys the view as much as we do…

We have been many times to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and this time we finally made it to the beautiful North Rim. The views are spectacular!

Mesquite, Nevada – Always worth taking a pit stop in Nevada’s desert . Relaxing at the pool and giving Herbie a break from touring cross country.

Kingman, Arizona – We had to get some spare parts in order to service Herbie. Almost around the corner of our motel, in fact a couple blocks down the so-called “Mother Road” (Route 66) we spotted Rod’s VW Shop.

Visiting world’s famous “London Bridge” in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. It was built in the 1830ies and formerly spanned the River Thames in London, England. It was dismantled in 1967 and relocated to Arizona. Simply fascinating!

On this road trip we went to Southern California again to buy some Medjool dates. We were lucky to get there right at harvest time, so the dates are fresh from the palmtrees. 🌴

Herbie is outfitted with new racing stripes and numbers and back on track touring all the way heading South to Yuma, Arizona.

On his first day back on the road since more than four months he covered 350 miles (560 km) driving from his actual hometown Ridgecrest, California, down to the Mexican border.

We are back in the States! On Thursday we got back here in order to take Herbie for another trip.

Herbie is getting new decals by AtoZ Graphics here in Ridgecrest, California, right now. Yesterday we saw him naked the first time in many years.

On As soon as Herbie gets his stripes and numbers back, we will take him for another road trip across the United States.

Many thanks to our dear friend Randy who’s always caring for Herbie when we are back home!
We just spent a couple days in Las Vegas, Nevada. Today we met our dear friend Wayne with his VW Bug from 1966. The other days we were doing the Las Vegas Strip and the Stratosphere Tower. We had a fabulous time!

Taking a pit stop in Pahrump, Nevada, and relaxing at one of our most favorite resorts.

Yesterday we got the chance to ride along Utah’s State Highway No. 95 again – for us one of the most scenic routes.

The probably most picturesque place in the Navajo Nation at the border Utah-Arizona: Monument Valley.

Today we visited one of our most favorite places in the United States: Canyon de Chelly. It is simply gorgeous!

After almost three years, we are on the road together again, touring across the US Southwest in Herbie – our Love Bug (o\5!3/o).

The brand new book “Käfer Love” by Thorsten Elbrigmann was just released. This lovely book also features a story about our “Love Bug” Herbie and his travels around the world…

You can order “Käfer Love” via Amazon or directly from the publisher Delius Klasing.
We’ve been treating Herbie with fully synthetic engine oil ever since and we never had any issues with the motor, even though we traveled with a camper in tow through the most toughest regions on earth, just as deserts, mountains and jungles.
Adamol’s fully synthetic 10W-60 “Racing” is our actual favorite! And we are proud using engine oil by an Austrian company which was founded 1896 by the Austrian Adam’s family.
Check out the latest edition of the German “VW CLASSIC” including ten pages about Herbie’s World Tour! Thank you, Magdalena Weinle, for this wonderful article!
