After traveling with Herbie 3,000 miles (4,800 km) across the Southwestern US (California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada), we left Herbie behind in his container for who knows how long… But hopefully we’ll return soon!

As our road trip across the US Southwest is coming to an end, our final stop for three nights was in Las Vegas, Nevada. Herbie posed in front of the Strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) and the new Hard Rock Hotel, which is still under construction.

Palm Canyon is beautiful and the hiking path runs along an oasis with the largest stand of natural fan palm trees in the U.S.

On our way heading South towards Palm Springs we stopped at Roy’s Motel & Cafe on Route 66 in Amboy, California.

Driving Herbie through Zion National Park in Utah…

Breathtaking views at Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah where we stayed at a nice little wooden cabin nearby.

Recharging good energy at one of our favorite places on Earth.

We just love the view of Monument Valley and its most famous butte formations along the Arizona-Utah state line.

It is always a pleasure for us to ride with Herbie along US Highway No. 163 passing Monument Valley and climbing “Forrest Gump Hill” as we were entering the State of Utah.

Staying for two nights at Domi’s most favorite motel in the Southwestern United States – the Canyonlands Motel in Mexican Hat, Utah.

We visited Horse Shoe Bend near Page, Arizona, today. It was simply magnificent!

Today we visited the town of Seligman, Arizona, the birthplace of the Historic Route 66.

Established in 1926, the probably most famous road in the world celebrates the centennial.

After an engine oil and a brake fluid change for Herbie in Pahrump, Nevada, we hit the road towards Kingman, Arizona, following the Historic Route 66 further East.

Tomorrow we’ll stay overnight in Williams, Arizona, in order to visit the Grand Canyon on the day after.

We just started our road trip across the Southwestern United States by traveling from Ridgecrest, California, through Death Valley to Pahrump, Nevada.

Herbie has been running great so far, even though he was resting for so many years. Tomorrow we’ll be heading towards Route 66 in Kingman, Arizona.
